Artketing: Michael Riedel for Dom Pérignon

German abstract artist Michael Riedel has collaborated with Dom Pérignon to create the packaging for a limited edition of two vintages: Dom Pérignon Vintage 2006 and Dom Pérignon Rosé 2004.

The Frankfurt-born experimental artist is known for his appropriations of text and use of digitization. In one series he looked at how his artworks have been interpreted in text, extracting copy from articles and advertisements to create silk-screened paintings while in another series he focused on the transition of slides in a PowerPoint presentation.

For Dom Pérignon Riedel digitally deconstructed and superimposed the letters D and P hundreds of times to create the impression of movement across the frost-white boxes and bottles, with vibrant pink and green embellishment.
