Spring 2024 Haute Couture: Alexis Mabille's Mirror, Mirror

With his “Mirror, Mirror” haute couture collection, Alexis Mabille aimed to elevate silhouettes much like cosmetics accentuate facial traits, shaping and contouring bodies to enhance them.

In the most literal interpretation of his theme, embroidered Marilyn-like scarlet lips graced the front of a high-necked sheath dress and a single Cleopatra eye shadowed the shape of its asymmetric neckline.

The show opened with a profusion of white Lyon lace embellished with mother of pearl buttons and adornments. As always there was always some nonchalance with a shirt dress with batwing sleeves and corolla skirt worn with a belt in duchess satin, generous pockets on hips, and a oversized negligee crafted from dark gold-colored silk crepe, edge with ostrich feathers.

His familiar signature bows could be found discreetly throughout the collection, whether on shoulders or around a skirt.
