Artketing: Renaud Pellegrino’s Julia Clutches

Having first worked with Yves Saint Laurent, Renaud Pellegrino founded his eponymous label in 1983 and his sought-after minaudieries have since been sported on the arms of Catherine Deneuve, Paloma Picasso, Lauren Bacall and Isabelle Adjani, while entering the permanent collections of several fashion museums, including the Musee des Arts Decoratifs.

This season, the luxury leather house is celebrating its 35 years by giving carte blanche to 11 illustrators and artists to revisit one of its iconic bag, the Julia, an elegant minaudière with a shape evoking that of a matchbox.

The artists include Marc-Antoine Coulon, Megan Hess, Jordi Labanda, Blair Breitenstein, Hala Salem, Damien Florebert Cuypers, Kera Till, Suwa Im, Hiroshi Tanabe, Yann Paolozzi, and Sacha Floch Poliakoff.
